Our History

"We are Victory House, Where Faith Brings the Victory!"

01 The Genesis

GOFAMINT Victory House is an offshoot of The Gospel Faith Mission International, New York, which was inaugurated in late January 1995 with the retired Pastor (Dr.) Durojaiye Ojetayo in attendance. Pastor Ojetayo assisted Pastor Amos Olatuja in building the Church from the start. Services commenced in a Bronx basement and eventually moved to a purchased property at 1524 Bergen Street in Brooklyn.

As the church grew, many brethren commuting from Queens and Long Island suggested starting a branch closer to home. The leadership mutually agreed, and on June 25, 2000, the second GOFAMINT North America New York Assembly was officially inaugurated. This new assembly would later be known as Victory House.

02 Finding Our Footing

Our humble beginnings took root in a basement at 130-33 236th Street, Laurelton, with five founding families: The Ojetayos, Rev. (Dr.) Oluwole Oluwole, Deaconess Oluwasegun, Deaconess Adenuga, The Awowoles, and The Adewuyis. We quickly moved to a rented storefront at 193-12 Jamaica Avenue in Hollis, holding our first service during the crossover into 2001.

The church continued to grow in number, strength, and power. By May 2004, Victory House purchased property at 20 Biltmore Avenue in Elmont, and later acquired the adjacent property at 12 Biltmore Avenue in July 2009. The property hosted many fellowships until zoning restrictions led us to relocate. Since May 2015, we have been blessed to hold our worship services at our current location on Farmers Boulevard in Saint Albans.

03 Looking Forward

We consistently witness God's faithfulness. The sale of our Biltmore Avenue properties has been pending since February 2025 as we actively pursue the purchase of a new, permanent church building.

Our ongoing goal remains clear: numerical increase and spiritual growth. The only way for any church not to die is to actively engage in soul winning. We are poised to keep following the Lord’s command in Matthew 28:18-20, employing every Godly strategy we have without compromising the truth of the Word of God.
